Non government charity organisation helping amputees in Aceh after the tsunami

Donations

     How you can help us

We need regular donations to keep the centre open - please think about doing a fundraising project of your own:

  • hold a coffee morning with raffle and bric-a-brac sale
  • organise a 'book exchange' at your local pub and send the money collected
  • hold a car-boot sale or book a pitch at one
  • organise a 'Walk for Aceh Amputees' - charge for the walk, have fun and exercise at the same time. You could serve refreshments at the end or picnic and have a raffle or sell cakes. How about organising one for Boxing Day to walk off the Christmas Dinner and remember the tsunami victims at the same time? You could have a ‘Pot-Luck-Lunch’ with leftovers!

By holding a fundraising dinner with generous auction and raffle prizes, the villagers of Stockcross made an amazing donation of nearly £8,000! This enabled us to get our office set up, paid for 2 legs for a tsunami victim and helped other tsunami amputees with livelihood support.

If you have any ideas of your own perhaps you could let us know!

Our thanks go to the many friends who have supported us in getting the disability centre opened:

In particular to Jenny Bailey of Discover IT who very generously organised this web site; the friends and family of Hugh Crawford; the Lacey Aceh Appeal; Laos and Medan Hash House Harriers; Rotary Langkat Medan. Also the former expatriates of Banda Aceh who did groundwork, gave advice and attended meetings on our behalf as well as donating money; and our friends, Ika Christine at YEL and Thomas Calvot at Handicap International whose encouragement has carried us forward.
