Wardah is a graduate of the agriculture department of Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh. She was granted a Ford foundation scholarship for her work in the local community and achieved a Masters degree in rural development at the University of East Anglia, UK. Immediately following the tsunami she returned to Aceh, with Oxfam, to help her people and became involved, at a voluntary level, in bringing together the team and setting up the charity P3C-Aceh. Wardah is currently acting as liaison between fundraisers and the Team and acts as translator.

  H Badruzzaman, SKM, M Kes
Consultant Member

Badruzzaman, a physiotherapist, was already working for another charity at the time P3CA was founded. He kindly provided his new house to become headquarters for P3CA at a very nominal rent.

Hugh Crawford, Consultant and Founding Member

Hugh, with his wife Vera, witnessed the Boxing Day tsunami as it devastated the West Coast of Aceh where they had a holiday home on the beach close to Lho’nga. An amputee himself, Hugh was keen to do as much as he could to help those who lost their limbs in the disaster and is Chairman of the Aceh Disability Appeal Fund.

Jane Batt, Secretary of the Aceh Disability Appeal Fund

Jane, a graphic designer, lived in Lho’nga during the 80’s and has been instrumental in raising awareness of the plight of amputees in Aceh.
